Remote Management and Connectivity
ThinCCo Device Manager (TDM) is designed with corporate networks in mind. It can be operated from any Java enabled Browser. It uses the latest HTML technologies with no reliance on protocols such as FTP or UDP, allowing TDM to perform well through both router and firewall restrictions on WANs as well as LANs.
Configuration Management
ThinCCo Device Manager uses the concept of multi-level groups for organizing thin clients, allowing a high level of control and flexibility. Groups are created and configured with device properties, remote connections and the connection properties, for all clients within the group. A group is configured manually or by receiving its configuration from a pre-configured terminal that is instructed to push its configuration to TDM. Individual settings can also be set and
manipulated directly through the TDM interface.
Sub-groups can also inherit properties from their parents or have independent attributes.
Individual devices can also have their own configurations. A Default Group exists to assign properties to devices contacting TDM and that aren’t pre-assigned a group.
Deployment & Scheduling
Key to managing thin clients is the ability to update the operating system and application
software efficiently. TDM allows administrators to configure updates for both firmware and device settings, store them and deploy to devices and Groups at times that are convenient to both users and the IT staff using the scheduled Wakeup, Reboot and Shutdown features, applied on a group basis or to individual terminals.
Security
A login is required for access to the ThinCCo Device Manager. TDM allows multiple users
access to administrative functions and provides users with four levels of action (view, modify, add and delete) for each function. The functions include the ability to control devices, groups, software, backup/restore functions, licensing and administrative rights (user accounts control.)
Backup and Restore
ThinCCo Device Manager provides the ability to back-up and restore its settings, preferences and database, providing the security of knowing that all client data is safe. This negates the need to rescan the network for devices in case of data loss on the server where TDM is installed.
Platforms, Installation and Access
ThinCCo Device Manager can be installed on any Windows or Linux server platform. The installation image includes Apache Tomcat, and MySQL database. ThinCCo Device Manager can be accessed directly on the server on which it is installed or from any device equipped with a browser that supports Java.
